Neil Young's "Living With War"

Only Neil Young could go into a studio and three weeks later come out with an anti-war record. Not only that he's streaming the entire album from his web site. The album is due in stores early May for those of us without a lot of extra bandwidth to stream ... oh wait! that's most of New Zealand.

Contrast Podcast #4

The theme of this podcast was "quadraped" and your's truly submitted a rockin' bluesy little number by the Soledad Brothers called "Cage that Tiger" off of the "Voice of Treason" album. This podcast looks like it's going to be a great listen - all these songs about animals ... see that Matt from the Earfarm picked "Crocodiles" by Echo and the Bunnymen! one of my fav songs. To check out the podcast head over to Tim Youngs site and start downloading.

The Black Keys - Chulahoma

Chulahoma is a brand new 6 song ep from the Akron, OH two-piece The Black Keys on the Fat Possum label. All songs were written by the late Junior Kimbrough the first artist to record for Fat Possum. Kimbrough was friend of the late R.L. Burnside - another Fat Possum label mate who sadly passed away earlier this year. The Keys stripped down drum and guitar sound pays excellent homage to this North Mississippi Hill Country sound that seems to finally be finding it's place.

The Perfect 3 minutes - Contrast Podcast #3

Contrast Podcast #3 is up and includes a track from yours truly along side some other amazing tracks from folks from all over this weird planet that we're on. If you don't know about the Contrast Podcast the idea is pretty simple; a theme is set and people from all over submit one song that somehow matches up with the theme. The theme for #3 was "the perfect 3 minutes". My contribution was an exactly 3 minute bluegrass ditty by Jim and Jenny and the Pinetops off of their CD "One More in the Cabin".
